CLEVELAND – Everstream, the business-only fiber network, today announced it has been awarded the NorthCoast 99 award for 2022, sponsored by ERC and published in Cleveland Magazine. The award recognizes 99 Northeast Ohio organizations with exceptional policies and practices that attract and retain top performers. It is Everstream’s sixth time winning the award.
The award recognizes not only great workplaces, but great places to work for top talent — people that drive results, provide competitive advantages, and allow businesses to innovate and grow. Winning companies are determined based on how successfully their policies and practices align with the criteria associated with attracting and retaining top performers.
All NorthCoast 99 winners participated in a comprehensive application process requiring detailed information on how their company addresses top-performer attraction, development, and retention in five key areas: organizational strategy, policies, and communication; recruitment, selecting, and onboarding; employee well-being; employee engagement and development; and total rewards.
“Top talent naturally gravitates toward companies with cultures that foster integrity, corporate transparency and open communication,” said Everstream CEO Brett Lindsey. “At Everstream, our team members have a strong connection to the business and to one another. I believe this creates a culture of empowerment and support of one another, inspiring people to do their best work on behalf of their teammates and our customers.”
Employees are encouraged to uphold the company’s mantra – DWYSYWD, or Do What You Say You Will Do – to best serve the company’s business customers as Everstream rolls out a high-capacity fiber network across a 10-state footprint in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. Everstream increased its total route miles of fiber by 80% in 2021, growing to more than 27,000 route miles.
To support its rapid growth, Everstream has increased headcount by 50 employees in the past two years, while fostering a corporate culture that is consistent across their growing number of offices. The company, for example, offers virtual events, such as Trivia Tuesdays and fund-raising events for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, which raised $20,000 in July. This summer, teams held off-site group events, including enjoying lakefronts, playing bocce ball and board games, attending baseball games, and more. The company also honors employees monthly with Kick-Ass awards for those that go above and beyond for the company and its customers.
