Everstream, the business-only fiber network, is a 2019 NorthCoast 99 recipient, recognized as a best workplace for top talent for the third time.
NorthCoast 99 is an annual recognition program and event that honors 99 great Northeast Ohio workplaces for top talent. The program reviews how each participating organization addresses top-performer attraction, development, and retention in five distinct areas: organizational strategy, policies, and communication; recruitment, selecting, and onboarding; employee well-being; employee engagement and development; and total rewards.
“It’s an honor to receive this award because it speaks to the environment we strive to create for our employees,” said Everstream President and Chief Executive Officer Brett Lindsey. “As a company, we believe that happy people equal happy customers, and that has a direct impact on Everstream’s success. As CEO, I am personally committed to making sure our team members feel engaged in the company and our culture.”
Everstream’s corporate culture is a crucial part of the lifeblood of the company, with its “Do what you say you will do” (DWYSYWD) approach leading the charge.
“Everstream is in a period of tremendous growth and hiring. We’ve established a robust onboarding process to properly welcome new team members into our culture and ensure they are set up for success,” Lindsey said. New hires receive a DWYSYWD t-shirt, among other corporate and personalized swag, along with a letter from Lindsey, where he outlines his vision for the company.
Everstream also has launched new initiatives targeted at fostering and enhancing employee engagement. Notably, the company’s Culture Committee is a seven-member cross-departmental team responsible for keeping abreast of employee concerns and adding some fun into the company’s day-to-day routines through a monthly activity or event.
“With unemployment at a 49-year-low, the benchmarks for attracting, engaging and retaining employees are higher than ever. Year after year, winning organizations are raising the bar with increasingly progressive and groundbreaking HR practices and benefits that elevate the experience of their employees,” said Kelly Keefe, president of ERC, Northeast Ohio’s leading professional services organization dedicated to training, consulting, research and HR support services.
NorthCoast 99 is a yearlong research project ERC established in 1998 to help employers make a difference in the lives of people working and living in its 22-county coverage area.
The 2019 NorthCoast 99 Awards program is sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield; CareerCurve; Cleveland Magazine; ERChealth; Gino’s Awards; Maloney + Novotny; Mark Wayner Creative; Meyers, Roman, Friedberg & Lewis; Oswald Companies; Staffing Solutions Enterprises; and Ultimate Software.
