Everstream holds an MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet certification, validating that the business’s fiber solutions adhere to rigorous industry best practices for standardized network-based services.
The business earned the certification in Q4 2020. At the time, Everstream was one of 27 companies worldwide — and only the fourth with headquarters in the U.S. — to have earned the MEF 3.0 company certification.
To earn this achievement, Everstream conducted and passed the 10 Gb Ethernet private line (EPL) and Ethernet virtual private line (EVPL) tests. EPL provides a point-to-point Ethernet connection between a pair of dedicated user-network interfaces (UNIs), with a high degree of transparency. EVPL provides a virtual point-to-point or point-to-multipoint connection between a group of UNIs.
Specifically, MEF’s Carrier Ethernet standards define technology-agnostic layer-2 services that can be consumed directly by the enterprise or used between access, transit and retail service providers for backhaul, cloud access or multi-provider end-to-end services for seamless on-net and off-net connectivity.
MEF is a non-profit industry forum of network, cloud and technology providers. According to MEF, its standards, which form the basis of certification, are developed, reviewed, refined and ratified by the MEF membership to represent the hallmark of best-of-breed industry standards for network services and technology.
